The last time I went to Terry's, it was at night after a flight and lots of items were sold out already. So we made sure to come at opening this time around. Food: I don't eat pork so I can only comment on beef items. Hoooooly crap, the beef rib ($35/lb) was truly fall off the bone. The fat caps, the tender meat, and the seasoning had me commenting after every bite about how good it was. We also ordered the beef brisket ($35/lb) that was also amazing. You can eat everything with a plastic fork me you barely would even need the knife. For sides we ordered the slaw, Mac and cheese, and creamed corn. The Mac and cheese was so creamy, as well as the corn. For dessert, we got the banana pudding which was also so good. My husband, who's normally not a banana flavor fan, loved it! Service: You line up first to order sides then your meats, then you pay. There are lots of seats inside where it's AC'd. There are also lots of outdoor seats. They ask you not to hold tables until you've received your food to make it fair for everyone. Everyone from the front door to the people taking our order were very nice and helpful! Can't ever go wrong with Terry Black's. Just make sure to come early so you can order what you want!

My friend reached 10 years of being a vegetarian, so she decided she wanted to start eating meat and celebrate with Terry Black's! Our group of 12 people met at Terry Black's at 1:30. Somehow, we found parking in the lot, which is VERY hard to come by. There was practically no line, and we were inside in a matter of minutes, if not seconds. Luck was definitely on our side, because after ordered, we found indoor tables, too! As always, the meat was delicious. I've been to Terry Black's several times and it's always tasty. The brisket is moist, and the sausage is really nicely done. The only thing I don't like as much is the turkey (one time this was a bit dry for me). Definitely a must when you have guests in town!

I am rarely in Texas and I wanted to try some classic bbq. I was thinking Franklin's but was not ready to commit the time and everyone recommended Terry Black's and promised I would not regret it. The line was out the door on a Tuesday night but moved pretty fast. I picked my Lonestar beer out of a trough. I went over to the side station where they asked if I wanted to order by weight or a single portion. I picked a single portion and ended up with a massive servings of pork and beans and creamrd corn. I then moved over to protein station and order 1/3lb of brisket. It was a delicious burnt end piece but it looked too small on my tray so I ordered another. I also ordered a pork rib. How could I not? It was pretty crowded but I found and empty spot and started my binge eating. The brisket was absolutely spectacular, the best I ever had, perfectly moist with a delicious bark. Honestly I am sad I didn't get more. After the meal I walked over to the smoker and the guy working the put was thrilled to walk me through the experience. It was awesome If you are in Austin, this is an absolute must eat. It was not crazy crowded but it had an endless line of ubers so the tourist love it.

Came on a Wed evening at around 730pm and the lines were out the door. But the lines moved quick. You order sides first then the meats. They have a self service type area for drinks that you can choose from. Overall, the service was great for how busy it was. Tables were tightly packed and not a lot of privacy and loud. The food was pretty good overall. The beef ribs were the best thing here! So tender and juicy. The sausages were goodness- both the original and jalpeno. The pork ribs were typically. But the brisket was very mediocre. It was a bit dry and not super flavor full. They gave us a few burnt ends that were amazing too. Would recommend a try but not sure if it was worth all the hype.

5 STARS If you are looking for some of the best beef rib you've every tried in your life, go straight to Terry Black's Barbecue in Austin, TX. Whenever I visit Austin, I know where to go for certain items, and when I am craving beef rib, I get to Terry Black's early (before the lunch rush hits). You normally see a line out the door, and could end up waiting more than 45-60 mins if you don't come early. The good thing is that they have drink vendors outside selling beer and non-alcoholic beverages to keep you cool while you wait in line. The parking lot can also be a complete disaster because of how small it is and how many locals + tourists flood this particular location. The brisket is also pretty solid at Black's (not my personal favorite given how much brisket competition there is in Austin), but the star of the show for me has always been the beef rib. Be sure to come with at least 1-2 other people to share it with. Don't forget to try some of their delicious sides as well - I recommend the mac-n-cheese, as well as the sauteed string beans! This is a real Texas BBQ experience - visit Black's and enjoy!

If you're looking for great bbq without the notorious Franklins line, come to Terry Black's! Terry Black's is my go-to place in Austin. The brisket is moist, jalapeño cheddar sausage nice kick, Mac and cheese so creamy, and creamed corn so tasty. Line moves quickly. You order sides then meat by pound. For 2 people, we shared 1/2 lb brisket (extra moist) & 1 jalapeño sausage. They have tons of seating inside and a patio. There is also a parking lot. Place is very casual.

Best BBQ in Austin. From the meat to the sides to the staff! Pit master Jason was kind and generous. Showed us the smokers where the magic is made! Beef ribs are a must. And there's no bad side dishes.

Terry Blacks is a MUST STOP when you come to Austin, TX! Look, I am a Cali girl who doesn't like barbecue. Probably because I'm from California but this bbq is to die for. Everything I got was delicious! And overall, the service staff was very friendly. The line is long but moves fast and a lot of seating in and outdoors. Restrooms are located by the side entrance. There is also a shop to buy bbq and apparel. The FOOD - brisket is a MUST! We also got the original sausage, but if we had room, we would've tried the ribs as well. The Mac & cheese, green beans and Cole slaw were OUTSTANDING! This is the black girl review yall! Is it black Mac n cheese? No. Is it good? YES! Also cornbread and the cobbler were a great bonus. I must come back AGAIN. Thank you!

Arguably the best BBQ I've ever had in my life. Bold statement I know. Everything from the food to the service to the vibes was just on point. I wanna give a shoutout to their system of checking people out because I went with a friend on a Saturday night and we waited maybe all of 5 min to get our food and check out. They know their audience flow and perfected efficiency!! Bravo. The food was worth every penny. The meats are so good you barely need any sauce. And they cut and weigh the meats right in front of you too. The star sides for me were the creamed corn and the mac n cheese! Also can't forget to get a sweet tea! And to end the meal, we got their delish banana pudding!
